My Bio
Art to me is an act of release; it's letting go of all the crazy that we hold inside because of what we think everyone will say. It's a way of telling the world exactly how we feel without being judged for it. It's about humor and letting off steam.

There's a Russian word, toska, which means "a longing so intense, so powerful, it makes you physically ill." That's how I identify true artists versus someone who just makes art. Both are held in high esteem to my eyes, but the ones who will go the distance, who leave their mark on the world are the ones who hurt at the idea of letting art go, of leaving it behind.

And for even more crazy, I have a blog now as well! For a bit more humor and reflections on design, go to: worldbydesign.wordpress.com/

Something that's just a note people should take, if you have any interest in working on artwork in Photoshop, check out the book 100% Photoshop. Honestly, it teaches you to use filters in ways that I at least never really thought of.

So, I'm pretty excited:  my uncle is starting up his own business and is passing along the store front specs to me (or rather, passed them to my mother, who passed them to me) to design for him.  It's a 50'x50' space, in need of a kitchen, retail space, and employee restroom. Since this is the first design I've done with a strong possibility of being implemented, I'm excited (I'm not getting paid, but that's ok; it's family). I'm having a bit of a rough time starting, but that's more for finding inspiration than anything else.  He and my aunt live in Nebraska, and the business he's starting is offering custom blends of spices already pre-mi

As I draw to a close on an incredibly personal project I find myself confronted with a feeling I'm not much familiar with, and that's hesitation.  I'm a big believer in the idea that art should be shared (what's the point if you're the only one that's going to see it, right?); that's not to say I think everyone should broadcast their works or that nothing should be personal, but I've always made it a point for people to be able to see my artwork if they so wish, but I find myself being somewhat selfish with this piece.  This piece is essentially the representation of some personal turmoil and I find the question of whether or not to share it
